As the engine of biogeochemical processes, soil microorganisms drive the active material exchange and circulation between the soil sphere and other layers, and play an irreplaceable role in maintaining the above-ground interaction and supporting the processes and functions of the terrestrial ecosystem. It also plays an important role in soil fertility formation and cultivation, contaminated soil remediation and global environmental change. Therefore, soil microbiology is the research frontier and hot spot in the field of modern soil science. To cope with the potential microbial problemsin the "Belt and Road" countries, we'll hold an International Training course on Soil Microorganisms - Classification, Characteristics and Practice for the"Belt and Road" countries.
The international training course will be held on 20 consecutive days from August 20 to October 31 in Chengdu, China (Please tell us the specific time when it is convenient for you to come to China. We will determine the final training time according to the situation and send ivitation letter for your coming). This training course is hosted by the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment (IMHE), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), and organized by Prof.Dr. ZhangDan, IMHE, CAS.
1. Eligibility Criteria
1.1 Applicants should be from the following "Belt and Road"countries:
Israel, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Singapore, Indonesia, Poland, Mongolia, South Sudan, Uganda, Egypt, Burma, Rwanda, Cambodia,Turkey etc.
1.2 Applicants should be recognized scientistsin your country or government officials in microorganism fields or related management practitioners.
1.3 Applicants arebetter ofbeing under the age of 50and can communicate in English.
2. Compensation
The organizer from Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of
Sciences willprovideround way air ticketsfrom trainee's country to Chengdu (China) and from Chengdu back to the trainee's country, accommodation and diets to all selected applicants during their stay for training.
3. Deadline for submitting application
10 August 2023
4. Accepance Letter
About 30 qualified persons will be selected from the applicants. Acceptance Letters will be issued during 15 August 2023to 20 August 2023.
