JMS Author training be held on 31 May 2023

         On the afternoon of May 31, 2023, the editorial office of Journal of Mountain Science (JMS) held an author training via online and offline ways. About 60 authors participated in this training.

          Four editors delivered lectures respectively on journal introduction, manuscript preparation, submission procedure and journal publishing ethics.

      QIU Dunlian, the executive editor in chief introduced the journal development history, journal coverage, article categories and structure, and mainly stressed the updated contents in the Guides to Authors. Editor XIANG Li introduced the impact of manuscript withdrawal to the whole society and the importance of research integrity and academic misconduct, and then focused on what JMS had done to prevent potential academic misconduct. Editor WANG Yang lectured the problems in graphs and tables in academic publication. She talked about the common problems in graphs and tables found in manuscript editing, and recommended the right ways in preparing figures and tables for manuscript intended for JMS. Editor WU Xuemei guided the author on how to use the journal manuscript system, elaborated on the six stages of manuscript handling, and the seven steps of a successful manuscript submission in the manuscript center.

           This lecture aims to help authors to prepare manuscripts in a more rigorous and normative way and submit manuscript in a smooth way.
